To use married life as an analogy it stops just short of divorcing the wife to be with the mistress – so to speak. I don’t know about you, but to me the last few sentences feel very much like it changes the dynamic from equal polyamorous trio to Nykke slowly becoming Steele’s favored Qim while Valaryn is steadily sidelined. So one Qim stays in a remote part of Uveto, and the other is at her Qal’s beck and call as they travel the stars together. Nykke, however, decides to accompany her Qal and joins the crew. Steele is restless and for practical reasons unable to stay in their nest for their whole life, which Valaryn accepts even if she’s unable to accompany the Captain. Valaryn agrees, and Nykke becomes the Captain’s second Qim. Steele knows it’s not how frostwyrm relations usually work, but asks Valaryn if she’d be ok with inviting the new wyrm to their bed. To explain why, let’s look at the progression of events for a momentĬaptain Steele and Valaryn become a thing and sorta settle down as Qal and Qim. ![]() Speaking personally, however, I have my reservations about that.
